Do easyJet planes have power outlets?

No — and on easyJet the power bank won't rescue you in the air either. easyJet doesn't advertise seat power on any of its jets, and no reviewer or seat map we found has spotted an AC socket or a USB port on its A319s, A320s, A320neos or A321neos. There's no internet Wi-Fi and no seatback screen. Then the twist: easyJet's own dangerous-goods page says power banks "are prohibited from use on easyJet aircraft and must not be used to charge other devices." You can carry two, up to 160 Wh each, in your cabin bag; you just can't charge anything from them until you're off the plane. So the plan is to board charged.

§ 01The verdictAnswer up front

Do easyJet planes have power outlets? No — and the power bank stays off once you board.

  • No AC socket, USB-A or USB-C has been reported at any easyJet seat. easyJet doesn't advertise seat power, a 2020 review on an A320neo found "no at seat charging or Wi-Fi", and seat-map guides list none on the A320 or A321neo.
  • Power banks can fly but can't work: easyJet says they "are prohibited from use on easyJet aircraft and must not be used to charge other devices." It publishes no start date for the rule.
  • Two power banks per passenger, up to 160 Wh each, in cabin baggage only, each in its retail packaging or a plastic bag. easyJet recommends keeping them on you.
  • No internet Wi-Fi and no seatback screens. Download before the gate: the battery you board with is the battery you land with.

§ 02The cabin kit · Before the boarding passBanks · short cables · adapters

Board it charged.

The last socket you'll see is in the terminal. easyJet's seats have none, and the bank in your bag has to stay off until you land, so every percent you need on board goes in before you board. Find a socket at the gate, fill the phone and the bank together, and carry the bank for the far end.

§ 03Power by aircraftAC · USB-A · USB-C, per cabin

Every easyJet aircraft, cabin by cabin.

Find your aircraft on the booking or seat map first — the same flight number can be a different jet day to day. Where a cell reads Not listed, no source we can stand behind says that outlet is there or isn't; we'd rather tell you that than guess. Carry a bank for the gate and arrival regardless.

The only easyJet type where the evidence is first-hand. A 2020 review on an A320neo found "no at seat charging or Wi-Fi", and a journalist touring easyJet's first neo in 2017 called the missing USB points "a missed opportunity". The engines are new and quieter; the seat is still bare.

About half the fleet. A seat-map guide updated in February 2026 says there are "no USB ports or AC power outlets on the easyJet A320", and easyJet advertises none, but we found no first-hand review of the older A320 that mentions seat power either way. Near-certain, not seen.

The smallest and oldest type, due to leave the fleet by 2027. Nothing we read looks at its seats specifically; this row rests on fleet-wide statements that easyJet aircraft have no seat power. Board it charged like the rest.

§ 04The power-bank ruleEffective now · rule read 8 Oct 2026

Carry it. But you can't use it on board.

These are the rules on easyJet's dangerous-goods page, which words the ban most broadly. Its restricted-items page puts it more narrowly — power banks "must not be used to charge other devices while on board" — but either way, the bank stays off. That puts easyJet with Lufthansa Group, Emirates, Singapore Airlines and Qantas, which ban using a bank to charge devices on board (Lufthansa excepts essential medical devices), and on the opposite side from Ryanair, which allows it. easyJet gives no start date; this is what its page said when we read it on 8 October 2026.

Sources
  • 01No use on board: "Power banks are prohibited from use on easyJet aircraft and must not be used to charge other devices." Not at the seat, not in the toilet, not for a quick top-up before landing.
  • 02Up to 160 Wh per power bank. The power-bank rules set that ceiling and mention no approval step; elsewhere on the same page easyJet gives automatic "operator approval" for lithium-ion batteries up to 160 Wh.
  • 03Two power banks per passenger.
  • 04Cabin baggage only, never the hold. easyJet recommends carrying them "where they can be monitored i.e. on your person."
  • 05Each one individually protected: in its original retail packaging or a plastic bag.

◆ Quirk 01

Same empty seat as Ryanair, opposite rule

Europe's two big low-cost airlines both skip seat power. Ryanair lets you charge your phone from a bank once you're airborne; easyJet doesn't let you use one on board at all. If you fly both, the habit that's fine on one breaks the rule on the other.

◆ Quirk 02

The small bag is the bank's natural home

The free bag can be up to 45 x 36 x 20 cm, wheels and handles included, and must fit under the seat in front. easyJet recommends keeping power banks where you can monitor them, ideally on you, and that's easier in a bag at your feet than in a large cabin bag (up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm) in a locker three rows back.

◆ Quirk 03

Smart luggage: the battery comes out

If your suitcase has a built-in battery, easyJet wants it disconnected and removed. Checking the bag? Take the battery into the cabin, terminals protected. Keeping it with you? It can stay in the bag, disconnected. A bag whose battery won't come out won't be accepted.

◆ Quirk 04

No internet, maybe a local portal

There's no internet Wi-Fi and no seatback screen. easyJet fitted AirFi, a free onboard network with games, journey information and the menu, across its fleet; a May 2023 trade report says installation was complete on all 327 aircraft. It's a local portal, not the internet, and we couldn't confirm it's running on every flight in 2026. Download shows and maps before the gate either way.

§ 06The easyJet flight packPower bank first

One bank first, then three backups.

On easyJet the bank isn't an in-flight charger, because you can't use it on board. It's the arrival charger: boarding pass, taxi app and maps after a flight with nothing to plug into. easyJet allows up to 160 Wh, and a 20,000 mAh bank is well under that. The GaN charger does its work before the flight, filling phone and bank from one gate socket.

The one thing to buy first

easyJet won't let you use a power bank on board, so a 20,000 mAh USB-C bank works either side of the flight: topped up at the gate, used from the arrivals hall on.

§ 07Questions about easyJet powerReal answers
Does easyJet have power outlets?

No outlet has been reported at any easyJet seat. easyJet doesn't advertise seat power, a 2020 review on an easyJet A320neo found "no at seat charging or Wi-Fi", and seat-map guides list no AC or USB on the A320 or A321neo. Board fully charged.

Does easyJet have USB charging ports?

None reported. A journalist touring easyJet's first A320neo in 2017 noted it could have had USB power points and didn't, and 2026 seat-map guides list no USB on the A320 or A321neo. If you find one, tell us.

Can I use a power bank on an easyJet flight?

No. easyJet's dangerous-goods page says: "Power banks are prohibited from use on easyJet aircraft and must not be used to charge other devices." You can carry up to two in your cabin bag; use them at the gate and after you land.

What are easyJet's power bank rules?

Up to two power banks per passenger, each up to 160 Wh, in cabin baggage only, never the hold. Each must be individually protected, in its original retail packaging or a plastic bag. easyJet recommends keeping them on you, and they must not be used on board. easyJet gives no start date for these rules.

Can I charge my phone on an easyJet flight?

No. There's no seat power reported on any easyJet aircraft, and easyJet bans charging from a power bank on board. Charge at the gate before boarding.

Does easyJet have Wi-Fi?

Not internet Wi-Fi. easyJet fitted a free local AirFi network (games, journey information, the menu) across its fleet by 2023, but it doesn't connect to the internet, and we couldn't confirm it's active on every 2026 flight. There are no seatback screens.

Is it the same on easyJet UK, easyJet Europe and easyJet Switzerland?

No source we found treats them separately on seat power, and none reports a socket on any of them. The power-bank rules above are the ones on easyJet.com.

Can I bring a 30,000 mAh power bank on easyJet?

Usually yes: a standard 30,000 mAh bank at 3.7V is about 111 Wh, under easyJet's 160 Wh limit. Check the Wh figure printed on it. You still can't use it on board.
